Waterloo Elementary School has been working to achieve Green School status since 2014. Our Green School Committee was made up of classroom teachers, PTA members, administrators, and students! The adults who served on the committee are:

our top five
Waterloo has made a great deal of progress in our efforts to "go green" and to preserve and conserve the environment. Our top five achievements are:
- Planting 122 native trees around the perimeter of the school grounds in order to assist in a reforestation project
- Creating a conservation landscape with the planting of a variety of native plants selected by students
- Establishing and working with community partners
- Establishing a school-wide recycling program
- Students educating students and teachers about the importance of reducing waste and protecting the environment
